[Release] Dark Magician Kagura [v0.2]!


It's finally here! I mentioned in the previous post it was gonna be a QoL-focused update, but I may have gotten a little carried away @_@

Sorry if this took a while to playtest, there's a lot of new things and lots of changes to old things, you can imagine how many things I had to check and get fixed...

Anyways, here's a list of changes (more details below for changelogs regarding early access releases which are also shipping here!):

- More story! After you complete some of the available quests and a few days pass, you'll gain a new quest...
- Kagura can now earn a total of 90 H perks (!!!) from being subjected to lewd scenarios, more to come later!
- All H events now affect your H stats as well as allow you to earn perks over time
- Added a more refined stats panel where you can see detailed H information for each character
- Added 6 seduction skills to Kagura with their own CGs, unlocked by certain perks
- Enemies now have a Lust meter you can deplete by performing seduction actions on them, once it hits 0 they're defeated
- BGM changes in pretty much every single map, building (sans 2 or 3) and combat/boss encounters
- Reworked the bar minigame! Lots and lots and lots of changes, new mechanics, plus everything is now contained in it's own plugin
- Added 3 more CGs to the bar minigame corresponding to some of the new actions, the scenes themselves will be expanded soon
- Added a church minigame, only has 1 CG and I'm still working on it but should be playable plus it unlocks a new outfit
- Added 2 more orgasm CGs (one for each minigame)
- New UI graphics
- New sprite for Kagura
- New preliminary combat UI (will expand it to have dynamic portraits/expressions and some other stuff in a future update)
- Added a credits button to the title screen
- Added the spell Soul Siphon to Isao
- She also now hangs out at the Affiliate Branch, and now does not vanish mid-cutscene when you first meet her
- Added a tab to the quest journal to view completed quests
- Added interiors for most of the locked buildings and redesigned some others
- Made the nun outfit unlockable by unlocking the minigame
- Fixed the enemies in Namori using the wrong variable IDs to determine which defeat scene to play
- Fixed a resource typo in one of the plugins causing a crash on the Android version
- Fixed a few missing/incorrect tiles and tile collisions
- Added a plugin to fix sub-tile collision (for things like rails and other small objects)
- Fixed the day/night cycle effects not working on certain times of day
- Fixed the exclamation bubble in the quest board not going away when no quests are available
- Fixed visibility for all bubble animations/effects
- Fixed a light radius accidentally spawning around the player
- Fixed a bunch of items being selectable for use in unintended places, notably outfits
- Made the town signposts no longer advance the day and only advance time forward
- Made the fainting potion more effective - Fixed the night theme in town not triggering sometimes
- Fixed the bandits in the forest cutscene during the intro
- Fixed the bandit lair boss room being open after beating the boss
- Fixed player portrait visibility in small maps
- Bar customers no longer have a low chance to initiate H when Kagura is fully sober and at 100 Purity
- Purity can no longer go below 0
- The robber H event now only appears at night
- Enemies no longer cancel their H tackles when one is resolved in the same turn
- They also pick targets in order from highest purity to lowest now (to help with cases where Kagura has much lower purity than her companions)
- Added a mini-intro to Namori (may trigger for you if you're playing with an old save)

Known issues:
- Some customers walk through their table when leaving in the bar minigame
- Some of the lighting fixes require you to use the lever in the gallery

I considered adding a full description of the bar minigame rework but that would've doubled the length of this post and it's already long enough x_x
The next update will introduce the new area you voted for in the patron polls along with a batch of new playable content, new scenes, quests and a new expedition!
One more thing, I want to personally thank everyone who's supported the game, thanks to that I managed to secure a bunch of new graphics and audio for the game, so I'm truly grateful!

Patch 0.1.1:

  • Bandit's dungeon:

    • all enemies drop gold now
    • nerfed tutorial boss dmg and HP a bit
    • now you're fully healed after being defeated in the tutorial

    Ishikura town:

    • added home, DMG affiliate branch, herbalist shop, church and bar areas
    • added 1 expedition quests for Namori
    • added an early version of the waitress job with 3 CGs and some portraits. These trigger more often the less purity you have.

    Namori:

    • added enemies and collectibles
    • added 1 defeat H scene

    General:

    • reworked the intro sequence! now it ties into the story a little better
    • added a day/night system
    • added a little popup when collecting items
    • added music to some places that didn't have any
    • small HP potions now heal for more, added higher tier potions

    • added Isao Tachibana as a party member for expeditions
    • added 3 combat H scenes for Isao
    • added 1 H scene in town that appears randomly when Isao has 70 or less purity

    Fixes:

    • fixed one enemy that didn't start combat on contact
    • fixed the music not restarting after the tutorial boss fight
    • fixed a crash when opening the menu after triggering certain events

    Patch 0.1.2:

  • - Portrait system! Now you can keep Kagura in your screen outside of cutscenes

  • Outfits! 16 to be precise, a few of them are currently not accessible 

  • You can now change outfits in the wardrobe at home

  • 3 new scenes in Namori that trigger at certain purity levels 

  • 1 scene at the bar 

  • 1 more scene for Isao in town 

  • Lots of small visual improvements (custom tiles, lighting, sfx) 

  • A new quest in Namori (no unique scenes for it... yet) 

  • Functional gallery! 

  • Skills revamp (you'll be a lot more powerful for now, I'll adjust the numbers as soon as I add the next batch of abilities) 

  • A new weapons/armor shop in town 

  • A temporary NPC that sells all currently available outfits

  • Patch 0.1.2 Hotfix #1

    • Fixed menu portraits causing a crash


  • Patch 0.1.2 Hotfix #2

    • Fixed the herbalist quest not being completable if you collect more than the required amount of herbs (thank you jaerdoster!)
    • Fixed the herbalist quest not taking away the items collected
    • Fixed an incorrect image in one of the optional dialogues in the guild
    • Fixed allowing players to take on expeditions after returning from the bandit lair, before returning to the affiliate branch
    • Portraits and facial expressions should blend in a bit better now
    • Added the ability to turn lighting and SFX off in the Options menu
    • Added the ability to toggle text boxes on/off using Tab/RMB during dialogue
    • Added levers to the gallery to help fix broken stuff in old save files (will make this automatic later)
    • Added some small "tutorial" tips in the bandit lair

    • Added 1 H new scene at home as an alternative to sleeping, and for that reason sleeping normally no longer resets lust
    • Added a placeholder Easy Mode
    • Added a little UI display for the current day and time
    • Made it so combat H scenes now loop until manually stopped instead of ending after a set time
    • Redesigned the town a little bit
    • Made a bunch of buildings accessible for the new events
    • Redesigned all items for dark mages, will be added in batches
    • Isao now has a new ability package to separate her from Kagura's
